Gir Forest National Park

The Gir Forest National Park is one of the largest parks to spot Asiatic lions roaming around in their natural habitats. This park is located in Gujarat and it used to be a hunting reserve for the Nawabs of Junagadh in the year 1990. When the park was started, it merely had 12 lions but now it has grown to as big as about 600 lions.

Other animals which you can find in this national park are sambar, porcupines, blackbucks, wild boars, etc. Travelers can enjoy jungle safaris held early mornings till late at night.

The best time to visit is between December to March. Jeep Safari costs Rs. 4,500 with a maximum of 6 people allowed in a single jeep. 

 

Jim Corbett National Park

Jim Corbett National Park is one of the biggest national parks to witness tigers and it is a favorite destination for travelers. The park is divided into four separate zones spreading across 520 sq. kilometers.

Other animals found here are deer, jackals, red fox, black bear, etc. This is the first national park to be made in India. There is an option for trekking for all those nature lovers.

The best time to visit is between November to June. 

 

Sariska National Park

The Sariska National Park located in Rajasthan is famous for spotting Bengal Tigers. It covers a distance of 886 sq. km and the scrub thorns make it easy for the tourists to spot lions. Other animals found here are serpent eagles, wild boars, striped hyenas, and varieties of deer.

Visitors can choose to book a “hide” for chances of spotting wildlife from real close. The best time to visit is from October to June. The price is Rs. 100 for Indians and Rs. 470 for foreigners. 

 

Kanha National Park

Kanha National Park is the first park in India is known for its tigers named as Tiger Project. It is one of the well-maintained parks and is a refugee for Barasingha. Tourists can spot so many different animals apart from tigers such as jackals, leopards, striped hyenas, monkeys, varieties of deer, including swamp deer, blackbuck, etc.

The best time to visit the park is from November to June. The price ranges from Rs. 1200 to Rs. 2400 depending on the zone that you are in. 

 

Kaziranga National Park

Kaziranga National Park is a perfect place to spot some rare species of animals like Rhinoceros, Wild Buffalo, Swamp Deer, tigers, elephants, etc. It is also home to many species of local and migratory birds but the biggest attraction is One-horned rhino.

UNESCO declared it as a World Heritage Site making it a diverse national park. Tourists can enjoy jungle safari even in the early morning or afternoon. Elephant safaris are also there which can be enjoyed early mornings.

November to April are the best months to visit. The prices are Rs. 1200 for Indians and Rs. 2,000 for foreigners. 

 

Sundarban National park

Sunderban National Park is a mangrove reserve which is a tiger and biosphere reserve attracting most of the visitors to this park daily. Bengal Tigers, Saltwater crocodiles, turtles, Ganges river dolphins, etc. are some of the exotic species found in this national park.

The best way to travel across this park is by taking a boat. One can spot Bengal tigers sunbathing from November to February. Hiring a boat will cost about Rs. 1,000 to Rs. 2,000 per day.
